Ubuntu Tweak 0.5.6

Ubuntu Tweak is an application that simplifies the installation and updates of apps, the items that run when you log in, the way your desktop looks, some Nautilus settings, and other system settings. We have featured it to do tasks such as Removing Old Kernels and Customizing Login Screens but it can do so much more than those. There are two new features in this version worth taking note off. The first is the reset button. If you have tweaked something and wish to reset it to default click that button. The other feature worth noting it the Desktop Recovery feature. It allows you reset Gnome, GConf and other system settings.

NOTE: I explain in more detail the Applications tab as the is what is liable to be used most often.
Applications
Ubuntu Tweak can install many differed application, including Gnome Activity Journal, Adobe Flash, Blueman, Cheese, Chromium, Docky, Gloobus Preview, Gnome Shell, Minitube, VLC and many others.

It also includes a Package Cleaner which removes old packages, empties the cache, removes config for removed packages, gets rid of old kernel versions and purges PPAs (removes the PPA and downgrades to the version in the repository.)

Ubuntu Tweak has a Source Center which includes the PPAs for many applications including Adobe Flash, Banshee, Docky, Dropbox, Firefox, GDM2Setup, Gloobus Preview, Gnome Shell and many others. The cool thing about the Source Center is that anyone can submit PPA and apps on the website.

It includes a Source Editor which can edit all the sources.list files /etc/apt/sources.list and /etc/apt/sources.list.d/*.list.
