Custimize Login Screen On Ubuntu (GDM2)

Since GDM2 was included in Ubuntu 9.10 changing themes and customization is different.

GDM2 don't support themes, only thing that you can change is background, GTK and icon theme.

To do thins you need a tool called GDM2setup.

To install it go to terminal and type:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gdm2setup/gdm2setup
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install python-gdm2setup

Start GD2setup from System > Administration > Login Screen (GDM2Setup)

From here you can change all setting related to GDM2.

One thing that GDM2setup don't support is changing screen logo.

If you wan't to change screen logo in GDM2 you need to install Ubuntu Tweak.

In Ubuntu Tweak go to Startup > Login Screen

Press Unlock and click the button to change the login screen logo.
