Aptitude Removed From Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat

Aptitude has been finally removed from Ubuntu after few attempts on old releases.

Aptitude has been replaced by apt-get because apt-get is better and also by removing aptitude it will free some space on CD.

Users who want to use aptitude will have to install it manually.

sudo apt-get install aptitude

Really? I was under the impression that apt-get was the older and depreciated form. Although, I'm not so sure how much space it frees up on the CD.

Aptitude is better than APT - End of story.

Btw, Debian officially endorses Aptitude over APT.

@Biri Aptitude is a front-end for apt-get. But as far as I'm concerned Aptitude is better.
