Whats New In Ubuntu 10.04 Beta 1

Beta 1 of Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx has been released and it brings loots of design changes.

• Gnome/Kernel

Ubuntu 10.04 beta 1 comes with 2.6.32-6 generic Linux kernel and Gnome 2.29.92 (build date 3/8/2010)

• Plymouth

Plymouth is now fully integrated, now You are able to see plymouth boot.

• Software

There are no many changes in this area.

Software Center

Ubuntu Software Center got new look. Now it much easier to navigate.

There are 2 new categories, Fonts and Themes & Tweaks

VPN

Ubuntu now comes with VPN support by default. (can someone confirm this?)

• Notification Area

There are design changes in Messaging Menu and MeMenu now shows user image.
