Local File Syncing In Ubuntu



Now days cloud storage is very popular, from Ubuntu One, Google Drive, Dropbox, Apples iCloud or MS Skydrive.


This services offers file syncing and storage in internet. but what if you wan't to sync files locally or over local network with other computers or USB flash or backup hard drive.
One awesome tool for this purpose in Grsync.


Grsync works in simple way, you just select source and destination and click run.


You can also select many options like deleting files from destination if file is no longer available in source, preserve permission, owners and group for files, checksum, compresion, backup making.

Grsync also support profiles so you can have more than one configuration for syncing.



sudo apt-get install grsync
or CLI only
sudo apt-get install rsync
