Unity Theme Is Proposing Awesome Login Window For Ubuntu 10.04

Unity is proposed them for Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx.

Unity theme covers splash, login, lock and desktop screen.

I am posting this because login windows (GDM) is awesome.

Current GDM in Lucid doesn't look nice, it is same as in Ubuntu 9.10 only background is changed and themes for GDM is Radiance and Ubutnu-Mono-Light icons.

If You have dual boot You may notice every time You have updated Kernel it creates new lines in Grub menu.

Now when Ubuntu have new looks Google Chrome (Chromium) browser doesn't look so good with its blue colour.

For radiance You don't need extra themes to install.

Chrome blends nice when just enable GTK+ on Chrome.



To do this go to Options > Personal Stuff and under appearance select "Use GTK+ theme"

How To Change External Monitor Screen Resolution In Ubuntu

Do you have problem that your laptop external monitor resolution are not detected in Ubuntu?

Don't worry there is a solution, and it is and easy one.

Change resolution on external monitor require editing xorg.conf file.

First make backup of xorg.conf

To do this go to Terminal and type:

sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf-backup

How To Move Buttons Back To The Right Side

Do You hate buttons on left side? If You do don't worry it can be fixed.

Go to Terminal and type:

gconf-editor

In gconf-editor navigate to:

apps > metacity > general

find button_layout

Right click and click Edit Key...

GDM is here, if You update Ubuntu 10.04 new GDM will be installed.

New themes are here!

As told there is 2 themes, "dark" and "light".

New themes comes with new icons called Ubuntu-Mono (there is dark and light version for both themes).
This icons are same as Humanity but there is new icons for panel icons.

Light - Radiance

I don't know what to write about theme, I can just say it looks great! When they announced themes I didn't like them but when You try them it will change Your mind :)
